Our leadership team met at Noon on 7/17/17 to discuss the results and responses from the second community meeting. Here are the notes from that meeting. During the meeting outcomes from the second community meeting on July 13, 2017 were discussed as well as some next-steps for moving forward. General Thoughts on the July 13 Community Meeting No general complains, mixed feelings on the trolley (is it a bus, electronic car, etc.). Results from Second Community Meeting

The second meeting for Denham Springs was held on July 13th at the Junior High School from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The purpose was to narrow down the community’s input from the Community Visioning Meeting held in June and develop projects to implement the community vision. 266 participants review proposed projects and cast their vote with dots on that project boards and a project ballot. Severe thunderstorms at the beginning of the event may have resulted in lower community attendance. Community members reviewed the vision and goals, discussed potential projects, and cast their vote on specific project details. Members of the Leadership Committee and City Staff were on hand to provide additional information. The results are in from our first community meeting! All of the post-it notes have been recorded and all of the dots have been counted. Overwhelmingly, the input from the first community meeting points toward rebuilding Denham Springs in a way that maintains our small town charm and respects our local history while at the same time re-imagining our city in a way that focuses on increased connectivity with more cultural & economic options. The responses received from the over 400 participants during the meeting represent a broad range of ideas - they offer huge visionary goals as well as very specific requests and opportunities.
